Northern Cyprus / Iskele
If you take the road north out of Famagusta you eventually end up in the holiday resort Iskele. One can find Iskele's Icon Museum in the village center, as well as the 16th-century church of St. James, and the Panagia Theotokos Church. Every year, an international folk dance festival is held in Iskele that attracts visitors from around the world. But what Iskele is most popular for is its long golden beaches.
There is no doubt that Long Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Cyprus, since it stretches kilometer after kilometer along the coast, offering sand, sun loungers, and beach bars. It is also lined with palm trees, and there are a number of play areas for children.
In Iskele there are many new condo and apartment projects being built along the coast, and you can be found near the Karpaz National Park, which is on the island's easternmost tip.
